Frances Mary Augusta Marshall died on July 23, 2010 after a long illness.
A native of New York City, she moved to Lancaster in 1956 with her husband Victor, an employee of Warner-Lambert Company in Lititz. A mid-life graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, she worked for many years for the Lancaster YWCA.
In the community, Frances became active in various retiree groups, and had a special interest in the Lancaster Button Society, in which she held several offices.
Her primary interest was her membership in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Lititz, formerly in Lancaster, where she held most of the offices of those permitted to women. She was particularly concerned for the congregation’s ministry to Ethiopian refugees.
Frances was predeceased by her son, Ronald, in 1995, and her husband, Victor, in 2008. She is survived by two children, Frances Lausch and Paul Marshall, and by six grandchildren: Nicholas Marshall, Hilary Sullivan, Benjamin Marshall, Daniel Marshall, Jonathan Lausch, and Megan Lausch.
Funeral services will be conducted at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Road in Lititz on Tuesday, July 27 at 2:30 p.m. (Petersburg Road continues Landis Valley Road west of Rte 501). The family will visit with friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
Memorials may be sent to the Ethiopian Ministries of Mount Calvary at the church address.
