Frances Louise Tracey, age 97, passed away peacefully at Homestead Village on January 15
th
. Born in Rector, AR, she met her first husband, Elbert W. Jones, Jr. in Little Rock. While serving in the army, he was killed in the invasion of Normandy, where he is buried. She is survived by a brother, Daniel W. McBride, who served in the Pacific as a Marine Corps pilot. She met her second husband at First Methodist Church in Little Rock. Dr. Joshua I. Tracey, a graduate of Yale, was working as a geologist for the US Geological Survey. They moved to Washington DC where they lived for more than 60 years until his death in 2004. Frances was the sister-in-law of Dr. Richard and Mary Jane Mann of Lancaster.
Blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, Frances and her husband sang in the Mount Vernon Methodist Church choir and the Arlington, Virginia Chorus. She was also President of the Arlington Symphony.
She is survived by her two sons, Dan B. Jones and his wife Marilyn of Lancaster, and Douglas I. Tracey and his wife Anke of Willow Street. Her surviving family includes three nieces, a nephew, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. She will be interred in Rector.
