Gail W. Bagley

Gail W. Bagley, a resident of Woodcrest Villa Lancaster, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Mennonite Home.  Gail was born July 10, 1934 in Philadelphia.   She was the daughter of the late Willard G. and Jean Begg Wooster.  She was married to Dr. George E. Bagley on June 23, 1956 with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She is survived by four children: Dr. Daniel, husband of Laurie Bagley of Kendall Park, NJ; Deborah, wife of Al Scott of Lancaster;  Douglas, husband of Shelly Bagley of Grand Haven, MI;  and Jonathan, husband of Angie Bagley of Mountville.  Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Gail attended Houghton College (NY) and graduated from the Lankenau Hospital School of X-Ray Technology (Philadelphia.)  She worked as an X-Ray technician before becoming a homemaker.

She was a charter member of Hempfield United Methodist Church.  For several years, she was a volunteer Lay Pastor in the Care Ministry of her church.  She visited many less fortunate persons in prison and nursing homes to bring some cheer into their lives.

Gail was also an animal lover.  She volunteered with animal rescue organizations, and raised and showed Ragdoll cats.  She trained several of her Ragdolls to become Therapy Cats who would accompany her on visits to shut-ins.

A funeral service will be held in the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA, 17601 on Saturday, September 13

at 11:00 A.M.  Family will greet friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  There will be no public viewing.  Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
