George E. Dommel

George E. (Pap) Dommel, of Mountville, passed away peacefully on Valentine’s Day. He was 88.

He was born in Lancaster to the late Edward J. and Alice L. (Reynolds) Dommel.

He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Armstrong World Industries after 43 years of employment.

George enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking, crab feasts and good times with family and friends. His presence and laughter will be missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica L., wife of Glenn B. Quillin of Nottingham, Georgia L., wife of Ray E. Becker of Elizabethtown, and Correen G., wife of Andrew J. Eck of Lebanon, daughter-in-Law Charyl Dommel, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and his sister Erla, wife of John Brinkman of North East, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Rhoda J. (Whitcraft), his son, Clinton K., a brother, Kenneth Dommel and sisters Phyllis Fox and Carlene G. Gochenaur.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 19

at 10:00am at Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA with funeral service following at 11:00 AM

Pastor Steve Hess will officiate.

Interment will take place at Conestoga Memorial Gardens.
