Geraldine Humphreville

Geraldine (Gerry) Hurst Humphreville, 83, of Brethren Village, a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Born January 11, 1929 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ida M. and Leon Hurst. She was married to her husband Robert (Bob) J. Humphreville for a loving 64 years.

Gerry graduated from McCaskey High School in 1947. She retired from the school district of Lancaster. She was a member of Lancaster Silver Threads, and Unwind Dance Club.

Gerry enjoyed bowling, traveling, needlecraft, beading, dancing, and all of her grandchildren.

Gerry was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

She will be missed by her two children; Karen, wife of Tom Ziemba of Holland, MI, and Ronald, husband of Kathy Humphreville of Leola; five grandsons and nine great-grandchildren, as well as a sister Diane Esbenshade wife of Roy of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Hurst and 3 sisters, Dorothy Leed, Genevieve Hanley and Doris (Dolly) Harnish.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral from the Chapel of Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA on Thursday, November 15th at 11:00 AM with Ann Osborne officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gerry’s memory may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
