Gertrude Y. Appley, age 94, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Conestoga View Nursing Home. She was born on Aug. 22, 1916 in Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Anna Rauch Appley; brother, David Appley; and sister, Elizabeth Appley Miller. She will be lovingly missed by her many friends from Lancaster House North and her adopted family.
Getrude graduated from Marietta High School in 1934. She was employed by W. W. Walker Estate and later by Watt & Shand Department Store retiring after 25 years of service.
Funeral services will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10 AM. Friends may call from 9 to 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crossroads Brethren Cemetery, Florin, PA.
