Glen J. Yoder, 65, of Mountville, PA, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ellen (Mast) Yoder. Born in Goshen, IN, he was the son of the late Henry and Irene (Thomas) Yoder.
Glen graduated from Cincinnati Bible College and spent his career as an ordained minister in Cincinnati, OH, Birmingham, AL, and Lancaster County, PA. His ministry included pastoring and overseeing churches, as well as coaching and training church leaders both locally and internationally. He currently served as the Pastor of Oasis Fellowship in Akron, PA. His life focus was to help people realize and live out their potential to positively influence the world.
Over the years Glen enjoyed spending time with family, travelling, and exploring international cultures and foods. He was a passionate fan of Alabama football and the Cincinnati Reds. Glen was a visionary committed to lifelong learning.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Matt Yoder and his wife Margo of Atlanta, GA, Jen Ames and her husband Craig of Chiang Rai, Thailand, and Jonathan Yoder of Mountville; six grandchildren, Anna Yoder, Jill Yoder, Samuel Ames, Micah Yoder, Grace Ames, and Heidi Yoder; and three brothers, Alvin Yoder of Pigeon, MI, David Yoder of Hartselle, AL, and James Yoder of Pantego, NC. In addition to his parents, his brother Verlin Yoder of Atmore, AL, preceded him in death.
A Funeral Service will be held at Newport Dove Church, 656 W. Newport Rd., Elm, PA 17521, on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
