Glenn E. “Ed” Howry

Glenn E.  “Ed” Howry of Lititz peacefully passed away at the Heart of Lancaster surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Glenn E. and Emma Wilson Howry. He was the husband of Linda Shade Howry with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage on 10/11/2010.

His last place of employment was Yerger Brothers in Lititz where he was a tow motor operator. Mr. Howry’s extraordinary 30-year battle with scleroderma more than exceeded all expectations which included hospice care in 1998, 2004, and 2007. He was an amazing man who fought so hard to live.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #56 and served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jared G. Howry, at home, who was a super son and caregiver. He is also survived by a daughter, Megan A. wife of Krish Murthy; 2 grandsons, Prashant and Chandra Murthy of Connecticut; and a sister, Sandy Howry McCann, wife of Richard McCann of Hummelstown, PA. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Robert Howry.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday March 7th, at 2:00 P.M. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 P.M until the time of service.  Private interment at the ­convenience of the family.
