Grace (Glick) Dyer, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, at the age of 101 years. Born in the City of Lancaster on November 19, 1911, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Clara (Baughman) Glick. She was the wife of the late Paul Clifford Dyer, who died in 1980. She was a 1931 graduate of Lancaster Girls (Stevens) High School and an 89-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and, according to Church membership records, may have had the longest-standing membership in that Church. She worked at Armstrong Cork Company before and during World War II and subsequently became the first person hired locally by Packaging Corporation of America.
Grace is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Dale Achenbach, of Springettsbury Township, York County, their three children and spouses, Douglas and Heidi Achenbach, Jill and Brian Brockway and Lynne and Anthony Glinski, five great grandchildren, Lucas and Carter Achenbach, Nathan and Nicholas Brockway and Teagan Glinski, a sister-in-law, Carrie Glick, and numerous nieces and nephews, including two who live in the Lancaster area, George Glick, Jr. and Denise Walters. Grace was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys (Glick) Irvin, and brothers, George Glick (Sr.) and Thomas Glick.
A funeral service will be held at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 East Orange Street in Lancaster, PA, on Monday, February 25th at 2:00 P.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Interment at Landisville Mennonite Cemetery.
