Grace P. Abel
Grace P. Abel, 89, passed away Friday evening, May 12, on her daughter’s birthday, at Lancaster Care and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Golden Living). She was the wife of the late Charles E. Abel, and daughter of the late Gust and Catherine Groff Dimitris.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Abel, a daughter, Catherine M. Herr, a sister Helen Richards, and brothers Richard (Dick), George, William (Bill), Harold (Butch), James (Jim) Dimitris and Robert Groff.
She is survived by her eldest son, Robert C. Abel and his wife Marjorie, a sister Mary Ann Dimitris, brothers Gust and Henry Dimitris, granddaughters Sherry and Lisa, greatgrandchildren Grace, Evan, Karena, and Doug, and a great-great grandchild, Coraline.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff for the compassionate care they provided to Grace over the last 6 years.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster County SPCA, 848 S Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to AseraCare Hospice, 280 Granite Run Drive #180, Lancaster, PA 17601.
