H. Arlene Brubaker, 92, of Woodcrest Villa, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. She was the loving wife of the late Aaron J. Brubaker who preceded her in death in 2011. Born in Lancaster on June 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Ella (Bowers) Neff.
She was a member of Rohrerstown Mennonite Church. She was very active in the Sewing Circle knotting hundreds of comforts for the Mennonite Central Committee.
Arlene served as a volunteer for many years at the Columbia Reuzit Shop and on the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Rohrerstown Fire Company. She loved her vegetable garden & many beautiful flowers. She did lots of sewing and needlework making many beautiful rugs, afghans and doilies for her family. Arlene enjoyed cooking for her entire family for family get-togethers. She was loved by many at Woodcrest Villa where she was involved in several activities.
Surviving is a son, J. Roy husband of Donna Brubaker of Amity, OR; three daughters, Ruth A. wife of Lamar Zimmerman of Manheim, Betty E. wife of Steve Martin of Ephrata, and Dottie L. wife of Abe Landis of Manheim. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, a sister Evelyn, wife of Harry Rohrer of Lancaster and a brother John W. Neff, husband of Irene Neff of Lititz. Preceding her in death was a sister Verna, wife of the late Burnell Siegrist and a sister-in-law Lorraine Neff.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Rohrerstown Mennonite Church, 601 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA with Pastor Dennis Ernest and Pastor Millard Garrett officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Rohrerstown Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Brubaker’s memory may be made to Rohrerstown Mennonite Church, 601 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
