H. Raymond Benner
H. Raymond Benner, 91, of Lancaster, died Monday at Hospice of Lancaster Co., Mt. Joy. A World War II veteran of the Pacific Conflict, he was born and raised in Paradise, PA.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Martha Mastromatteo Benner. He was the son of the late Harry M. and Ivy Fraelich Benner of Paradise and is survived by one brother, Maurice F. Benner of Lancaster.
A devoted family man, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara, widow of Rev. William Newcomer of Paoli, PA, and a son, Glenn R., husband of Kathy Benner of Leola, PA; five grandchildren, Philip W. Newcomer of North Wales, PA, Mark R. Newcomer of Kent Island, MD, Lisa A. Newcomer of Pottstown, PA, and Audrey L. and Rebecca Benner of Leola, as well as 7 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, August 5th, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, if desired, contributions in Mr. Benner’s name may be sent to Covenant United Methodist Church, 110 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
