Harold W. Narigan, 87, a resident of the Willow Valley Retirement Communities, Lancaster, PA died Sunday April 15, 2012.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie E. Kalb Narigan who died in 2008. Born in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Harold P. and Lillian M. Beale Narigan.
Mr. Narigan retired as Vice-President of Corporate Quality from AMP Incorporated in 1992 after 28 years of service to the company. Prior to that he had worked at Thiokol Chemical Corp and St. Regis Paper Co.
Harold graduated from Purdue University in 1948 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity. In cooperation with the Governor’s Office of Pennsylvania, Harold created the Pennsylvania Quality Leadership Foundation which was patterned after the Malcolm Baldridge Award.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Surviving is a daughter, Beverly A. Martin and a granddaughter Ashley Martin both of Abingdon, MD. He was preceded in death by a sister Jeanne M. Heard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Dr. Randolph T. Riggs officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Narigan’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
