Harry L. Ammlung, 92, a resident of the Willow Valley Retirement Communities died Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Glen at Willow Valley.
He was the husband of Ruth D. Rauschenberger Ammlung. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Anna M. Berger Ammlung.
Mr. Ammlung was a chemical engineer with the U.S. Government Dept. of Defense at Aberdeen and retired after 32 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Harry was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Willow Street, and had been a longtime member of Grove Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen where he was an ordained elder, treasurer and trustee. He was a member of the American Society of Testing & Materials, the AARP, and the RSVP-VITA where he assisted the elderly with their taxes.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Dr. Richard L. husband of Rev. Cathy Ammlung of Sykesville, MD and Dr. Robert C. Ammlung of Randallstown, MD.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thomas Auditorium at Willow Valley Lakes, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA with the Rev. Steven R. Bowser officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
