Harry E. Mentzer, Jr.

Harry E. “Butch” Mentzer, Jr., 59, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Hospice and Community Care, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Anna Goss Mentzer of Lancaster, and the late Harry E. Mentzer, Sr.

A graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, he had worked for Woolworths in Lancaster. More recently he had worked for Anvil International in Columbia.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by 3 sisters, Patricia Ann wife of Randy Beard and Claudia M. wife of Stanley Gantze, both of Lancaster, Sharon L. wife of Richard Kauffman of Bird-in-Hand; a brother, Rick husband of Diane Mentzer of Florida.

Funeral Services will be held from Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 2 PM with interment following in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 PM at the funeral home on Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society 314 Good Dr. Lancaster, PA 17603.
