Helen K. Biechler, 87, a resident of Oak Leaf Manor, died Thursday, August 21, 2014.
She was the wife of the late John R. Biechler who died April 30, 2014. Born in Millersville, she was the daughter of the late Park M. and Anna Mary Habecker Kauffman.
Helen retired from Commonwealth Bank. She was a graduate of Penn Manor High School and a member of the Hamilton Park United Church of Christ. Her interests included golf, traveling and playing the piano.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn R. Witmer husband of Patricia, and Donald W. Witmer husband of Joan; a step daughter, Julie Harris wife of Dr. Brian; a step son James Biechler husband of Kelly; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and two brothers, P. Leroy Kauffman, and Charles “Chub” Kauffman husband of Eva. She was preceded in death by sisters, Edna Kauffman, Marie Gantz, Ruth Kauffman and Jane Mull and by a brother John Kauffman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, 1210 Maple Ave, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Catherine M. Shiley officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Greenfield Cemetery, Millersville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Grane Hospice of York, 3501 Concord Rd., Suite 110, York, PA 17402.
