Helen L. Oatman
Helen L. Oatman, 86, of Lancaster, died Friday, February 20, 2015. She had been under the care of Hospice and Community Care.
She was the wife of the late Luther S. Oatman who died in 1997. Born in Martic Twp., she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Warfield Karr.
Helen retired from Schick where she had been employed for 25 years. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, yard sales and antiques.
Surviving are five children; Peggi Karr of Florida, Dawn Boone of Elizabethtown, Robert husband of Darlene Oatman of Mount Joy, Linda Kauffman of Lancaster, and Dennis husband of Theresa Oatman of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren; three brothers, David husband of Jean Karr, Wayne Karr and George husband of Jane Karr; and a sister Esta wife of Jim Greer. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
