Helen M. Bucks

Helen M. Bucks, 98, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the foster daughter of the late John E. and Elizabeth E. Steinheiser. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Bucks who passed away in 1984. Helen was a graduate of Stevens High School in 1930, and a 1965 graduate of the Financial Public Relations School of Northwestern University. She was employed by the former Lancaster County National Bank (now Wachovia) until retiring in 1971. She was elected Director of Publicity in 1962, and served in that capacity for nine years.

Helen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and past President of the Women’s Guild. She was also a past member of the Board of Governors of the American Institute of Banking and a past Women’s Chairman of the Lancaster Chapter. She was a past member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster on Thursday, at 11 AM with interment following in Trumbauer Memorial Cemetery, Leola. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home on Thursday.
