Helen M. (Hess) Craul
Helen M. (Hess) Craul, 86, of Strasburg, went to be with her Lord “forever and ever” on Monday afternoon, February 18, 2013.
She was married 59 years to Gene L. Craul. Born in Conestoga Twp., she was the daughter of the late Amos H. and Mary Eshleman Hess.
Helen had worked for S. Clyde Weaver’s for 28 years. She was a member of the Willow Street Mennonite Church and Sewing Circle. Helen had been a member of Farm Women Society 22 and enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching the Phillies. .
Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Rachel wife of Robert Lind of Newberg, OR, Phyllis wife of Ray Brubaker of Quarryville, and Brenda wife of Mark Lausch of Lititz; a son, Kenneth husband of Nancy Stoltzfus Craul of Strasburg; 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren ; 11 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Walter Hess of Quarryville, David husband of Betty Hess of Willow Street, and Melvin Hess of Conestoga. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Anna Ruth Hess, Ida Hostettler, Catherine Good, Suie Hammer and Grace Groff.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA with the Rev. Joe Sherer and Rev. Robert Breneman officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Craul’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
