Helen M. Pyle
Helen M. Pyle, 86, passed away on January 24, 2015. She was born in Hollidaysburg, PA to the late Grover C. Zimmerman and Maude Elizabeth Lingafelt Zimmerman. She was the widow of Robert K. Pyle who passed away in January, 1991
.
Helen graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and attended Gettysburg College. She graduated in Parish Education from the Baltimore Lutheran Deaconess Motherhouse. After graduating, she served as a parish worker at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster where she met her future husband.
Faith played a central role in her life. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lancaster. Over the years she had served in various capacities on the Vestry, in the church’s library and office, taught education classes, and volunteered on numerous church related committees.
Active in local politics, she worked for the Lancaster County Democratic Committee and the Lancaster County Voter Registration Office.
She is survived by her four children: Bob Pyle of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Beth Pyle; Barbara, wife of Dennis Barth, and Brian Pyle all of Lancaster. In addition to her children, she has four grandchildren: Nicole, Andrew, Bryan and Liam; and a great-grandchild, Skylar who were the joys of her life.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
