Helen N. Buss, 94, well-known Lancaster musician, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 in Lehigh Valley, PA where she resided several years.
Born in Orwell, OH, she was the daughter of the late John Josiah and Eva Warren Anderson. Her husband, Richard G. Buss died in 2003.
Helen received her B.S. in Music from Ohio State University. She served as organist at local churches including Highland Presbyterian, Church of the Apostles U.C.C. and most recently First Church of Christ, Scientist, all in Lancaster, and also substituted at many churches. She loved her role as accompanist for individuals and groups including John Darrenkamp, F&M College Choir, Lancaster Opera Company, and Lancaster Chamber Singers.
She was a member of Church of the Apostles U.C.C., Lancaster.
Helen is survived by 3 sons: Dr. Walter C., husband of Elizabeth Buss of Zionsville, PA, Donald A. Buss, husband of Dr. Yvonne Robinson of Allentown, PA and John G., husband of Judy Buss of Rochester, NY., and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers: Donald, Carl and John Anderson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at Church of the Apostles, U.C.C., 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA, 17603 on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service
