Helen Nicely Clark

Helen Nicely Clark, of Lancaster, passed away on March 9, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster, PA.

She was the wife of Lawrence Clark, formerly of Rector, PA, and they celebrated their 66

th

wedding anniversary on September 4, 2014.  Born November 14, 1926 in Ligonier, PA she was the daughter of the late Garnet J. and Margaret Louise Ralston Nicely.

Helen graduated from Ligonier High School in 1944 and attended Westminster College.  She worked as a secretary at US Steel to the Vice President of Real Estate until moving to Lancaster.  Upon moving to Lancaster in 1950, she raised her children and later worked for Eye Associates of Lancaster until her retirement in 1990.

Helen was an avid golfer and a member of the Conestoga Country Club.  She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, attended Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed traveling to unique destinations and playing bridge with her friends.

Surviving besides her husband are four children, Jeffrey L. husband of Debra Clark of Spokane, WA, Jennifer Wimer of Lancaster, Linda C. wife of Charles Burley of Bend, OR, and Robert N. husband of Susan Clark of Avon, CT.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a sister Marian R. Nicely of Ligonier.  She was preceded in death by a brother Louis B. Nicely.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Timothy A. Mentzer officiating.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Interment in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery, 105 Nicely Road, Ligonier, PA on Saturday, March 14

at 12:30 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 101 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA  17601 or to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA  17604-4125.
