Henry B. Aul, 104, a resident of Brethren Village died Sunday, September 25, 2011.
He was the husband of the late Lenore Gordon Aul who died in 1994. Born February 20, 1907 in Espy, PA he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Pearl Hess Aul.
Henry was a retired writer, illustrator and landscape architect for the New York Herald Tribune and the Sunday edition of the New York Daily News. He was a 1929 graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture. Henry authored five books on landscape architecture, garden structures and design. Over the years he and designed many gardens for the New York and Philadelphia Flowers Shows. His interests included gardening and growing flowers. He was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church and the Penn State Alumni Association.
He was the last of his immediate family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 East Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Ann Osborne and the Rev. Ernest G. Shaffer officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
