Herbert L. Rogers

Herbert L. Rogers, 81, of Lititz, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Lancaster ­General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Henry L. and Emma B. McCune Rogers.

Herbert was a graduate of Manheim Township High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Drexel University where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He retired from General Electric after working for them in ­Schenectady, NY and King of Prussia, PA. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Herbert loved the outdoors and was a member of the Buckeye Rod and Gun Club.  He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing at Middle Creek and hunting in Potter County.

Surviving are two sisters, Evelyn Anderson of Ephrata, and Roberta Rogers of Lancaster; a brother, Kenneth Rogers of Franklin, VA; and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.
