Irene E. Schmuckle, 101, a resident of ManorCare of Lancaster, died at the home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
She was the wife of the late John E. Schmuckle who died in 2004. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. and Lavina Anna Campbell Harnish.
Irene had worked for Hamilton Watch for many years. She had attended the former Stevens High School and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Irene enjoyed traveling and had visited Europe, Africa, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and most of the states in the U.S.
Surviving is a sister, Josephine Kuhn of Lancaster; a brother Edward husband of Paula Harnish of Mount Joy; and a step-son John L. husband of Gail Scotte Schmuckle of Mechanicsville, MD. She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 11:30 A.M. at the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Avenue, Millersville, PA with Deacon Augustus Mauro officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
