Irene M. Brunner, 92, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Mennonite Home. Prior to moving to the Mennonite Home earlier this year she had resided at Woodcrest Villa for 20 years.
She was the wife of the late W. Clair Brunner who died in 1990. Born in Lykens, Dauphin County, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Grace N. Klinger Miller.
Irene graduated from the Hershey High School and from the former Hershey Junior College. She was employed as a secretary for many years at RCA and then for the Manheim Township School District.
She was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Her interests included reading, travel, needle work and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving is a daughter, Barbara A. wife of George W. Boyer of Lancaster; a grandson, Geoffrey M. husband of Pamela M. Boyer of New Castle, VA; and two great grandsons, Ryan and Thomas Boyer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Eagle Commons at Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Craig A. Ross and Chaplain Mim Cruz officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Brunner’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
