Ivie Fern Ressler Walkowicz, 93 of Lititz, PA, passed away on August 5, 2014 at Conestoga View, Lancaster PA, after a brief illness. She was a resident at the home for the past 4 years.
Born in Mt. Nebo, PA., December 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Florence M. (Stokes) Heiney.
Ivie was the first sibling in her immediate family to graduate from high school, Penn Manor in 1938.
During the 1950’s and 60’s, she owned and operated the Twin Kiss Drive-in restaurant on Columbia Ave, Lancaster PA. She also retired from RCA in 1983 after 22 years of service where she was a member of the IBEW union. After retirement, Ivie enjoyed working at her childrens’ businesses, the Shamrock Café, Lancaster and the Hideaway Bar in Lititz, PA. Ivie loved family, cooking, working and living life to the fullest.
She is survived by 1 sister, and preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Ivie is survived by 6 children, Kenneth (Cheryl) Ressler, Wrightsville, PA., David (Sherry) Ressler, Conestoga, PA., Eileen Drennen (companion of Ron Smith) Lancaster, PA., Michelle (Jeff) Steiner, Orefield, PA., Dirk Walkowicz, Kirk Walkowicz, 6 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Ivie had a lifelong desire to have herself donated to Humanity Gifts, due to this wish, there will be no public services.
