J. William DeHaven, 92, a resident of Evergreen Estates, Lancaster, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Bletcher DeHaven who died in 2004. The youngest of seven children, he was the son of the late J. Harry and Emma Louise DeHaven.
Bill is survived by two children, Leslie wife of Jerry Sheets of Beverly Hills, MI and J. William husband of Beth DeHaven of Pleasant Hope, MO. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Sperry New Holland in 1982 where he had been employed as a credit manager. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Margaret Kassees officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. john’s Lutheran Church, 223 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
