Jacqueline H Binkley

Jacqueline Hamady Binkley, 94 of Lancaster, PA. passed away on Monday October, 21st at Legends of Lititz. She was the daughter of George and Pearl Hamady (McClain). Jacqueline (Jackie) was the devoted wife of Abram E. Binkley for 74 years and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

 Jacqueline spent much of her life in the service of others. She was a Red Cross volunteer for 40 years and served as the Red Cross Volunteer Director at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was also a volunteer at the Indian Town Gap refugee camp during the end of the Vietnam War, helping refugee families settle here in Lancaster. She also worked as a volunteer for the Green Circle Program; the program focuses on helping people develop an appreciation and understanding of diversity while developing self-worth. Jacqueline was also very active with her church.

Jackie’s favorite things were her dog, a German Shepherd, her husband of 74 years and her three children, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also loved the New Jersey Shore and her yearly winter trips to Aruba. She enjoyed visiting Europe and made several trips there with her husband and children. She lived a creative life and encouraged her children to do the same.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Abram E. Binkley, two sons Thomas H. and Michael D. Binkley and a daughter, Susan B. Mapes (Binkley). She also has two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Jackie's Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St. Lancaster PA 17602 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jackie’s name may be made to The Martin Luther King Scholarship Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 South Duke Street, Lancaster 17602.
