James Olen Pressley

James Olen Pressley died on his birthdate, October 10, 2024 at 84 years of age. He was the husband of Linda Kay Pressley and lived at the Farmstead at Homestead Village in Lancaster, PA.

James was born in Paducah, TX, the second of five children of Olen A. and Bonnie M. Pressley. He graduated from Littlefield High School in Littlefield, Texas in 1959. He earned a BS in chemistry from Hardin-Simmons University (1963) in Abilene, TX. He served 2 years in the US Army and taught high school chemistry before completion of his PhD in chemistry from VA Tech in 1972. He spent 25 years with Armstrong World Industries R&D, retiring in 1996. During that period, he enjoyed playing golf & tennis, travel, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay & in the Caribbean and visits with family across the US. He and his wife are members of Highland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Pressley of Lancaster; two children, Shelley N. Pressley of Moscow, ID and Christian L. Pressley of Richmond, VA; and two grandchildren.

Interment will be private at Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
