Jane “Betty” E. Walls
Jane “Betty” E. Walls, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Hiram “Bud” L. Walls.
Born in East Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Vincent P. and Maude E. (Brodesser) Rogers.
She spent her entire professional career as a registered nurse within various hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She also worked as shift nurse in the infirmary at the RCA plant on New Holland Pike. After her retirement from Lancaster General Hospital, she continued to work in various private nursing duties, especially with children, until three years before her death.
In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, gardening, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. She was an avid dog lover.
She was loved by her family which includes: brother Col. Vincent P. Rogers of Jacksonville, FL, 4 sons, Michael, husband of Kathy Walls of North Fort Myers, FL; Jeffrey, husband of Anne Walls of Lancaster, Vincent, husband of Kim Walls of Lititz, William, of Lancaster; 3 daughters, Kathleen Vasquez, Deborah Walls, and Catherine Reese, all of Lancaster; grandchildren, Justin, Stephen, Scott, Kenneth, Stacey, Stephanie, Cate, and Tara; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Timothy and Christopher.
A memorial service will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Flowers are welcomed or contributions in Jane’s memory may be sent to The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 1500 Paxton St, Suite 101, Harrisburg, 17104-2633.
