Jane E. Albright died April 3, 2017. The daughter of Charles and Melissa Eissner, Jane was a woman before her time. Born in Georgetown, DE, she attended the University of Delaware, and received her BA in chemistry in just 3 years. Her professors wanted her to stay and pursue a PhD in chemistry, but her spirit sent her to Lancaster where she worked for Armstrong. She met her late husband Ronald on a blind date, and together they started Albright Opticians. Jane lived a full and active life, teaching nursery school, serving as the President of the Lancaster Mental Health Association, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and raising a family. She is survived by her children Debbie Smithgall and Jim Albright; her son-in-law Charlie and daughter-in-law Sue; her grandchildren Allison Smithgall, Amie Savidge, Erin and Chris Albright; and her great-grandchildren Christopher, Carter, Evan, and Emma Jane. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, April 7, 2017. Friends may greet the family from 10:00-11:00 AM, with a service at 11:00 followed by a private interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
