Jane L. Wenger, 92, of Stevens, PA and formerly of Lititz, PA died Tuesday, December 25
th
at the Denver Nursing Home. She was the widow of John A. Wenger who died August, 1992. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Elizabeth Leeds Lamparter. She graduated from Linden Hall in Lititz, PA.
Jane was the first girl admitted to the Fliers Training Class at the Lancaster Municipal Airport and became the first girl to graduate from the Civilian Pilots Training course being offered at Franklin and Marshall College by the Civil Aeronautics board. She enjoyed bridge and painting excursions with her husband John.
Jane is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pamela S. Wenger of Stevens, PA; two grandsons, Joshua David Wenger of Biloxi, MS and Jeffrey L. Shirk of Sharpsburg, GA and two great-grandsons. She was preceeded in death by a son, David L. Wenger, a brother, Harry J. Lamparter, Jr. and a sister, Christina L. Hess.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, December 31, at 2:00 P.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.
