Janet B Lyons

Janet Bickett Lyons age 84 of Landis Homes passed away December 31, 2024 at her home. Wife of the late Jere M. Lyons, she was born in Huntingdon County PA and was the daughter of the late Carl W. and Helen Mitchell Bickett. She was a graduate of Huntingdon Area High School class of 1958 and the Lancaster School of Business.

Upon graduation from Lancaster School of Business she was employed by the former Armstrong Cork Co. She also was employed by the School District of Lancaster for twenty five years and retired in 2002.

Janet continued working two days a week for the SDoL's Homeless Student Program and finally retired in 2012.

She was a member of the Lancaster Symphony Chorus for 32 years retiring in 2021. She was a past member of the Grandview Singers and a member of Grandview Church where she sang in the choir since 1961. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, served on the church council and various committees and volunteered for the Power Packs Program.

Janet is survived by three sons; Jeffrey B. Lyons, Jere K. Lyons and Jason C. Lyons, daughter in laws; Julie Hess Lyons and Stephanie Paul Lyons, five grandchildren; Jeffrey H. Lyons, Jessica A. Lyons, Justine Lyons Molenar, Mason P. Lyons and Peyton J. Lyons; great granddaughter Andrea Molenar and one sister C.G. Davis of State College PA.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Grandview Church, 888 Pleasure Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at 11:00 am.  A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service at Conestoga Memorial Park.
