Janice E. Vreeland

Janice E. Vreeland, 85, of Willow Street, PA passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Lakeside in Willow Valley Communities.  She was the loving wife of Walter E. Vreeland to whom she had been married 60 years.

Born in Orange, NJ, Jan was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Pflueger Rimback.  She and her husband grew up in Millburn, NJ. She attended Wheaton College and was a 1951 graduate of West Suburban Hospital.  As a Registered Nurse, she started her career as an E.R. Nurse, serving at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ,  and after the birth of her children, became a school nurse in Mountainside, NJ where she lived for 50 years.

She attended Grace Church at Willow Valley, and while living at Willow Valley she participated in Bible study, camera, quilt and flower clubs.

Prior to moving to Willow Valley Communities 10 years ago, she was a long time member of Hydewood Park Baptist Church, North Plainfield, NJ where she was an active member of the choir.

In addition to her husband, Jan is survived by 3 sons: Daniel A., husband of Kathy Vreeland of Redondo Beach, CA, David M. of Carlsbad, CA and Donald S., husband of Wanda Vreeland of Millburn, NJ; 5 grandchildren; and 2 brothers: William, husband of Ruth Rimback of Lancaster and Joseph, husband of Sonny Rimback of Gaithersburg, MD.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Spring Run Auditorium of Willow Valley Communities, 950 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA  17584 on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.   The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service.
