Jay Harold Kauffman, 76, of Marietta, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He fought a long battle with cancer and dementia over the past 5 years. He was born on October 8, 1947. Jay was born in Lancaster, PA to the late J. Harold and Helen (Reapsome) Kauffman. He was the loving husband of Alice Kauffman.

Jay is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alice (Risser) Kauffman; his loving dog, Margie, His stepson, Joshua Leininger and wife,Heather, and two grandchildren, Anna and Benjamin; His stepdaughter, Serenity Patrick and husband, Jonathan and grandchild, Jayden; Brothers Ben Kauffman (Robin) of Manheim, Robin Kauffman (Tracey) of Mount Joy, and Ronald Kauffman (Shelly) of Landisville; and several nieces and nephews. 

Jay graduated from Hempfield High School in 1965. He enjoyed baseball and played catcher. He enjoyed bowling and golf in his younger days. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He had a variety of jobs in the farming and trucking industry. Jay was an independent hauler for Hoffman Seeds. He seasonally worked at Pioneer and Seedway. Jay was a technician with Atlantic Breeders. His primary focus then became full-time farming alongside his father, and later with his wife. They farmed their own two farms along with other properties. He raised pigs, steers, and beef cows and calves. Jay was a Christian and he currently had attended Susquehanna Grace Community Church in Wrightsville, PA. He served and supported several ministries on location. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation and Memorial Service at Calvary Bible Church, 629 Union School Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552 on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The public may greet the family from 10am until the start of the service at 11am. Internment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mount Joy.
