Jean F. Winner, 90, a resident of Willow Valley Communities, Willow Street, PA, passed away on January 24, 2015. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Mary Cartwright Fedderman and Fred A. Fedderman, She was pre-deceased by her dear sister, Marjorie, and her beloved husband, Bruce.
Jean graduated from Millburn High School, Millburn, NJ in 1942. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1945 with the class of 1946Jean and her family lived in Madison, NJ for 32 years. While her children were young she was a volunteer at the Presbyterian Church and in the schools. She was an administrative assistant to the Dean of the Theological School at Drew University for 15 years.
After retirement, Jean and Bruce moved to New Bern, NC where Jean was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, and where they both enjoyed volunteering in the community.
In 2003 Jean and Bruce moved to Willow Valley Communities. They celebrated their 65
th
wedding anniversary on July 8, 2011.
Jean will be remembered by all for her thoughtful and loving ways.
Jean is survived by her beloved children: Douglas, husband of Christine Winner of Newtown, CT; Anne, wife of Chuck McMinn of St. Helena, CA and Laura, wife of Mark Schalles of Montville, NJ; her grandsons Dan, husband of Lecia McMinn, (and great-grandson Oliver) of L’viv, Ukraine; Brad, husband of Melanie McMinn, (and great-granddaughters, Ashlyn and Vivianne, and great-grandson Zachary) of Charlotte, NC; Adam Winner of Brooklyn, NY; Todd Winner of Portland, ME and Eric and Luke Schalles of Montville, NJ.
A memorial service will be held in the auditorium of Spring Run, 950 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA on Friday, January 30
th
at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Geoffrey Kohler officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
