Jean H. Whittemore
Jean H. Whittemore, 93, of Landisville, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Harold E. Whittemore.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Baird) Hall.
She was a proud member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.
She was a graduate of Larson’s College.
In her spare time she volunteered for the Blind Association, Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Order of the Eastern Star Inc., James Buchanan Chapter No 315.
Surviving is a son Allen Whittemore (husband of Sheri) of Elizabethtown, PA, a daughter Doris Hindes (wife of James) of Newmanstown Pa; grandchildren, Seth and Grace Hindes; and step-grandchildren Britany and Ashleigh Nolan. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Herald Hall both of Connecticut.
A Funeral Service will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM. A viewing will be held from noon until the time of the service. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Columbia, PA immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
