Jeannette D. Miller, 89, a resident of the Mennonite Home, died Friday, September 23, 2011.
She was the wife of the late Amos R. Miller who died in 1991. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Martha Lindgren Dietrich.
Jeannette retired from PennDot where she had been employed as a secretary. She was a member of the Willow Street United Church of Christ, Farm Women Society #22, ABWA , Silver Thread, and AARP. In her younger years she was active in girl scouts, Rural Youth, and Foot’N Fiddle square dance club. Over the years, Jeannette had enjoyed traveling.
Surviving is a daughter Patricia A. wife of Robert T. Swartwood of Lancaster; a grandson, Robert M. husband of Holly Lyn Swartwood of Lititz; and a sister Elsie Uhrich of York. She was preceded in death by a sister Lilly DeHaven and by a brother Albert Dietrich.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at 10:30 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with Chaplain Mim Cruz officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Willow Street United Church of Christ Cemetery.
