Jennette P. Gage
Jennette P. Gage, 88, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Woodcrest Villa. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Gage Jr. and the mother of the late William L. Gage. Bob and Jenny were married in 1948 and celebrated 51 years together.
Jenny was the daughter of the late Rev. Owen W. and Mildred R. Pratt. She was born October 11, 1924 in St. Louis MO. Jenny graduated from Decatur High School, Decatur IL in 1943.
She attended Iowa State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics in 1947.
After a Dietetic internship at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Jenny enjoyed a career as a consulting Dietician.
She was a resident of the Lancaster community since 1949. Jenny was a member of the PEO Sisterhood since 1962. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. She was an avid reader, bridge player, enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with friends, and vacationing in Stone Harbor, NJ.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Jenny was an amazing grandmother, mother and friend to everyone. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann (Gage) Pijar, wife of Michael Pijar (Pittsburgh, PA) and two grandchildren Alison M. and Jonathan R. Pijar.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 140 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA on Friday September 13, 2013 at 11:00 am. Family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
