Joan Alice Ranck, 86, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Calvary Fellowship Homes. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Frank and the late Emma Desjardins.
She graduated from Upper Darby High School in Drexel Hill, PA, as well as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. From there, she worked as a pharmacist at Buch’s, Neffsville, and Weis Markets Pharmacies.
Joan enjoyed reading, teaching Sunday and Bible school, singing in the choir, and taking trips to Ocean City, NJ.
Surviving beside her father is a daughter; Deborah Lynn Ranck Gavalchik, wife of Steve, of West Liberty, KY, a granddaughter; Jordan Kathleen Haenel, a grandson; Justin Stephen Haenel, both of Burlington, VT, and many extended family members. She is predeceased by her mother, brothers; Dr. Frank Desjardins, Jr., and Dr. Jay Desjardins, and a son; David Desjardins Ranck.
