Joan E. Shoffstall

Joan E. Shoffstall, 75, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care.  She was the loving wife of John F. “Fred” Shoffstall, Jr.

Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Grace (Feister) Smith.

She graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1956.   In addition to being a loving wife and mother, throughout the years she had various employers which included:  Bell Telephone, Jones and Laughlin Steel, Youth for Christ, Quality Care, Lancaster Visitor’s Bureau, and volunteered for the Literacy Council.

She touched everyone with whom she came in contact.  But most importantly, was her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family.

In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed church activities, painting, musical performances, attending the Lancaster Symphony and flowers in her garden.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons; J. Frederick Shoffstall, III. (husband of Lydia), and Kent A. Shoffstall (husband of Lori); and a daughter Beth; and 7 grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara and Dolores.  She was predeceased by her sister Gloria.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Lancaster First Church of God, 344 West Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 am. with Rev. Donald Price officiating.  Friends may greet the family at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
