John A. “Andy” Ressler, 94, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He was a resident of Evergreen Estates Retirement Community. He was the loving husband of the late Thelma M. (Lightcap) Ressler and Marion (Meikrantz) Ressler. Born in New Providence, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Y. and Anna B. (Findley) Ressler.
He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. After the war, Andy went on to own and operate Ressler’s TV & Refrigeration in Lancaster.
In his spare time he enjoyed golf and in his later years spent time bowling. He was a member and past President of the Manor Ridge Lions Club. At Evergreen, Andy enjoyed pool, exercise class and bowling.
He is survived by two sons; John A. Ressler married to Anna (Rohrer) of Williamsport; and Michael W. Ressler, married to Ellen (Vonderschmidt) of Doylestown and one grandchild, Alexander. He is also survived by his brother Victor Ressler of Paris, TX.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
