John David “J.D.” Brubaker

John David “J.D.” Brubaker, 95, a resident of Keystone Villa, Ephrata, died on Saturday, December 24, 2016.

He was the husband of the late Anna Mary Lefever Brubaker who died in 2004.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John S. and Mary Kreider Brubaker.

J.D. was a farmer who later in life worked for Dekalb Seed Co. for 13 years.  In his retirement he enjoyed driving for the Amish.  He was a member of the Willow Street Mennonite Church.  J.D.’s interests included camping, traveling and being a story teller.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the caregivers and staff of Keystone Villa at Ephrata and AseraCare Hospice for their kind and wonderful care that they provided for our father.

Surviving is a son, John husband of Anna Lois Miller Brubaker of Port Royal; four daughters, Dorothy B. Pearce of Houston, TX, Mary Jane wife of Roy Myers of Greensburg, PA, Lillian wife of Doug Gehr of Ephrata, and Eleanor Rose Brubaker of Westby, WI; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, and a sister Verna Hess of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, by a brother Marlin Brubaker and by sisters Edna Hostetter and Anna Mary Brubaker.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, at 1:00 P.M. at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with Pastor Tom Weber officiating.  Interment will be private in the Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in J.D’s memory may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 638, Lititz, PA  17543-0638.
