John “Mike” J. Charles
John “Mike” J. Charles, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on October 31, 2018 at Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown. He was the loving husband of Betty L. (Goodwin) Charles.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Emory M. Charles, Sr. and Elsie Ruth (Hoeltzel) Charles.
After graduating from High School from J.P. McCaskey, he went on to proudly serve in the United States Army.
He was the former co-owner of Harnish and Charles.
He was a member of Lone Pine Hunting Club and the American Legion Post #34.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife Betty and spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra Patrone (wife of Michael) and Cynthia Showers. Also surviving are three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Charles.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
