John R. Clark, Jr., of Lancaster, passed away on February 21, 2025 at his home in Lancaster. Born September 15, 1947 and raised in Willow Street, he was the son of the late John R. Clark Sr. and Carolyn Ruth (Neville) Clark.
John proudly served his community in the Lancaster City Fire Bureau from 1972-1998 where he retired as the Acting Fire Chief for the city of Lancaster. After retiring from the Fire Bureau, he drove truck for Jack and Jill ice cream, Schmidt Printing, and Lester M. Prange. He was a past member of the Community United Methodist Church of Lancaster. At the time of his passing, he had been working at Manheim Auto Auction for 17 years. He worked in multiple sections of the auction. His last job at the auction was parking sale cars, where he enjoyed working with his co-workers for the last 7 years.
John enjoyed hosting holiday meals with his family. He was passionate about following national politics and could be found watching the political shows every Sunday morning. Additionally, he enjoyed motorcycling and 4 wheeling with family at his son’s cabin. He also enjoyed working on home improvement projects including building his own furniture. He was actively involved with friends and family until the time of his passing.
John is survived by his sons: Jonathan Russel Clark of New Cumberland and Gregory Edwin Fiedler along with his wife Deborah Fiedler of Lancaster; and his granddaughter Lilliana Grace Clark of Shermans Dale.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
