Joseph “Joe” F. Kurjiaka

Joseph “Joe” F. Kurjiaka, 47, of Landisville passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Lynn Forney Kurjiaka and in June, 2010 celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Kenneth A. and Rose Schinzing Kurjiaka of Mt. Joy.

He was a 1981 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and a 1986 graduate of Penn State University. He was COO of Manheim Township School District, served on the Hempfield School Board, and was a member of Hempfield Rotary Club. He was an avid Penn State, LA Dodgers, NY Giants fan and a golfer.

Joe was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church, loved his wife and daughters, and vacationing with his family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two daughters, Kari and Kristin, at home; a brother, David Kurjiaka; two sisters, Kris Kurjiaka, wife of Brian Chudzik, and Mary Kenee; two nieces and a nephew.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Friday, May 13th, at 11:00 A.M. The family will greet friends immediately following the Memorial Service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
