Joyce M. Davis

Joyce M. Davis, 55, born in Malone, NY March 23, 1955, passed away at her home in Lancaster, PA on December 24, 2010. She was in the late stages of her battle with cancer.  Her mother, Mrs. Irene Strausbaugh and stepfather, Donald Strausbaugh, were present. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Robert Davis. She was married to obert Dietrich in 1976, who predeceased her in 2001. They lived in Quincy, MA. Joyce moved to Lancaster in 2005. Also surviving are: a brother, Paul and sister-in-law Dixie Davis; her uncle, Dr. G. Berton Davis and his wife Janice Davis; nephews, Patrick and Christopher Davis; and several cousins. She attended the University of Colorado for two years then transferred to the Boston School of Fashion Design where she was graduated. She was employed for various furriers in Boston as a designer and also with Lord & Taylor as manager in sales and designs, and Macy’s in sales and fur department. She was also employed at the Leahy Clinic in Boston prior to moving to Lancaster. While in Lancaster, she worked for Eye Doctors of Lancaster until her illness. A memorial service will be scheduled and announced later in the spring of 2011.
