Juliann Erb

Juliann Erb, 91, formerly of East Petersburg, passed away on April 26, 2018 at Ephrata Manor.  Born in East Petersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late David and Carrie (Miller) Erb. Juliann was predeceased by two brothers, Hager Erb and Roger Erb and a sister, Suzann Shelly.

Juliann graduated from both Hempfield High School and Beaver College. She then went on to spend much of her professional career working at Erb’s Store, a family business started by her father and then managed for many years by her brothers.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, walking and watching sports on television, especially college basketball and the Phillies. She was a life-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church where she actively volunteered.  At the time of her death, Juliann was the longest living member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by nephews, David Erb, Michael Erb, Thomas Shelly, nieces Rebecca Ingerman, Carey Shelly, Sue Morrow, Julie Erb, Nancy Emes and Betsy Shelly, numerous grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and great grand-nephews/nieces. Juliann is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bertie Erb, along with many loving church friends and dedicated neighbors.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad St., East Petersburg, PA  17520 on Monday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Long officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Interment will be private in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Juliann’s name may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
