Lawrence “Larry” Dale Herr

Lawrence Dale Herr, 80, of Luther Acres, Lititz died peacefully surrounded by his family on May 12, 2016.  He was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret Burkhart Herr.  Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann; three children, Cynthia Venning, Michael D. Herr and Lisa C. Kalbach; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Judith Soders, David F. Herr, Barbara (Dickel) Mitchell, Mitchell Herr and a granddaughter, Sarah Venning.

Larry attended McCaskey High School. His employment included Kerek Air Freight, Science Press, Clayton Gerlach, Inc. and Brubaker, Inc.  He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster where he served in many roles. Larry was a selfless, caring man who loved using his carpentry skills to serve others on mission trips throughout the U.S.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 29 East Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kerry L. Leeper officiating.  The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service and also at a reception following the service.
